Illegal Immigration Growth, health care, and education are all affected by illegal immigrations. While our current representative needs a study to determine the effect of illegal immigration before taking action, every resident of the 13th district knows that illegal immigration is a strain on our public resources, our first responders, and adds to our transportation problem. Illegal immigration isn’t just a Federal problem, the problem exists here in the 13th district, and action must be taken by our elected representatives to solve it. Solutions We must provide ICE 287(g) training at all levels. Police officers benefit greatly from training and we have an obligation to provide them with as much training as possible. As a former firefighter, I know the importance of training, and we must make sure we provide our first responders with the right tools to do their jobs. Our representatives must force the federal government to take responsibility for the financial burdens created, at the State and local level, by the federal government’s failure to enforce our nation’s immigration laws.
