SATURDAY February 4: Join the Prince William Democratic Women’s Caucus

We’ve got a lot of work to do this year in order to make sure that the Governor’s mansion and all of our statewide offices remain solidly blue!

It’s just as important that we work to elect more Democrats to the Virginia House of Delegates. Republicans have an unfair advantage due to partisan gerrymandering, so we need to do all that we can to chip away at their supermajority one seat at a time.

PWDWC is teaming up with the DPVA on Saturday, January 14, to provide an overview of what’s at stake this year.

Join us for an informative overview of the 2017 election and to learn what you can do to support Democrats. Here’s the details:

Saturday, February 4
11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Northern Virginia Community College – Woodbridge Campus
Arts & Sciences Building, Room 353

Potluck and Policy!

Join us for our first Potluck and Policy gathering! Supervisors John Jenkins and Frank Principi will be on hand to provide insight into Prince William County planning as we approach the budget season.

We expect this event to observe a non-attribution policy in order to facilitate a freer exchange of ideas.

Please contact the hosts (Don Shaw and Joyce Connery) with an idea of what you will be bringing (appetizer, main dish, side, dessert, or drinks) at or Encourage friends or neighbors who may not be involved to join us!

When: February 19, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Where: 13016 Qualls Ln, Woodbridge, VA 22193

General Membership Meeting

Join us Thursday, January 26, 2017 for our first General Membership Meeting of 2017!  We will be meeting 7:30 PM at the Kelly Leadership Center at 14715 Bristow Rd, Manassas, VA 20112.  Now is the time to get involved if you want to make a difference in the November elections!

November 15, 2016

Dear Prince William Democrats,

November 8, 2016 was a great day for Prince William County Democrats, not so much for the United States of America.  Secretary Clinton defeated Donald Trump in Prince William by more than 41,000 votes, and won ALL seven of our Magisterial Districts.  In the head to head, Secretary Clinton got 61.2% of the vote in PWC, the greatest percentage of any Democrat running for President in memory.  What is even more remarkable is the turnout in absentee voting, in 2012, 25,000 voted absentee with President Obama receiving 58% of the absentee vote.  In 2016, the absentee vote doubled to more than 50,000 with Secretary Clinton receiving 63% of the absentee vote.  Our Electoral Board lead by Keith Scarborough and Jane Reynolds along with General Registrar Michele White did a fabulous job of publicizing absentee voting.

Gerry Connolly won the 11th CD overall and in PWC.  Matt Rowe, underfunded by about $1,000,000 only lost by 2,000 votes in PWC, and LuAnn Bennett ran well in PWC.

Further, PWC and statewide defeated the anti-worker Constitutional Amendment that would have abolished union participation in Virginia forever.

I want to thank the thousands of volunteers who turned out to support Secretary Clinton as well as the down ticket races, without your help PWC could not turn BLUE.

If you are not a member of the PWC Democratic Committee, please join us, in 2017 we have gubernatorial as well as the entire House of Delegates up for election, we need to elect Democrats to the House or face continued voting suppression, defunding of public education, and the vitriolic hate messages spewed by Republicans in the House of Delegates.
